SOUL Adelaide Regional Event 10 July 2024

On Wednesday 10 July 2024, SOUL hosted its first regional event of the year in Adelaide.

SOUL members from Flinders University, The University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia gathered to hear from experts in the field.

James Moore, HWL Ebsworth Lawyers, presented on the impact of the Crimes Legislation Amendment (Combatting Foreign Bribery) Act 2024 (Cth) on the higher education sector; Professor Michelle Picard, Flinders University, presented on Flinders University’s approach to integrating artificial intelligence into its learning frameworks; Daniel Kiley, HWL Ebsworth Lawyers, presented on the legal risks surrounding the use of artificial intelligence; and Bronwyn Furse, Thomson Geer Lawyers, presented on the proposed changes to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and privacy disclosure statements in the tertiary education sector.

The event was extremely well received and provided a wonderful opportunity for lawyers from South Australia’s three universities to meet and connect.
